Bumpass Wins another Player of the Week Award

CHICAGO, Ill. – For the second straight week, baseball's Kyle Bumpass is taking home some weekly hardware. The Illinois Tech starting pitcher/third baseman has been named the Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week once again.

Bumpass was instrumental in the team's four victories this past weekend. In game one of Saturday's doubleheader at Marian University (Wisconsin), the junior threw a complete game in Tech's 3-1 win over the Sabres. He allowed just one run on four hits for the Scarlet Hawks will striking out four. Also, Bumpass fired a scoreless inning in relief back on Tuesday at Calvin College. At the plate, the Crete, Illinois native hit .294 with two RBI and three runs scored over the team's five games this week.

The Scarlet Hawks return to action today with a 3:00 p.m. contest against Kalamazoo College at Ed Glancy Field. Live audio, video, and stats will be available. The live audio will be powered by Illinois Media School.
