CHICAGO, Ill. – It was an outstanding week for Illinois Tech shortstop Nick Bledsoe, as the sophomore was among the nation's leaders in several offensive categories. Because of this, Bledsoe is not only the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's (NACC) Student-Athlete of the Week for position players, but also has been named to D3baseball.com's team of the week.

To say Bledsoe was a dominant force this week would be an understatement. The Crete, Illinois native hit .786 (11-of-14) last week with two home runs, three doubles, a triple, and nine RBIs while leading the Scarlet Hawks to a 3-1 record. In addition, he scored six runs, walked twice, and did not record a strikeout. All of the numbers lead to a .824 on-base percentage, a 1.571 slugging percentage, and a whopping 2.395 OPS.

Against some tough competition on Saturday at (RV) Aurora, Bledsoe did his best work. The sophomore went 7-for-9 with two home runs, two doubles, a triple and five RBIs against the Spartans; going 4-for-4 with two home runs, three RBIs and four runs scored in the first game of the doubleheader alone. In the field, Bledsoe was 14-of-15 on fielding chances.

This is the first time Illinois Tech baseball has earned both an NACC and D3baseball.com weekly honor. The team is back in action today at 3:00 p.m. with a doubleheader at Maranatha Baptist University.
