Baseball Releases 2020 Schedule

2020 SCHEDULE

CHICAGO—The Illinois Institute of Technology baseball team released its 2020 schedule, which will feature 17 non-conference tilts and 22 NACC contests. The Scarlet Hawks will square-off against five squads that qualified for the 2019 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship, which includes defending national champion Chapman University. IIT will invade Chapman for a single game on Sunday, March 15. Washington University (Mo.), North Central College (Ill.), Aurora and Concordia Chicago make up the remaining 2019 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship participants on the 2020 slate. 

The 2020 campaign will kick-off on Saturday, February 29 at Washington University (Mo.), who are fresh off a 2019 UAA Regular Season Championship and an appearance in the 2019 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship en route to a 34-7-1 overall record. The Scarlet Hawks and Elmhurst College will meet in a neutral site affair in Jacksonville, Illinois for a three-game set on March 7-8. IIT will embark on a six-game spring break trip in California on March 14-18. Caltech, Chapman, Whittier and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps will make up the four teams on IIT's spring-break slate. 

Defending CCIW Regular Season and Tournament Champion North Central College (Ill.) will host the Scarlet Hawks for a three-game set on March 21-22 before a home-opening two-game clash with Benedictine on March 28. Rose-Hulman (March 16) and University of Chicago (March 23) make up the remaining non-conference games.
