CHICAGO, ILL.—Illinois Institute of Technology sophomore pitcher Austin Richardson will spend summer 2021 with the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (Wis.), a member of the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is an amateur collegiate, wooden bat summer baseball league. All players must have NCAA eligibility remaining in order to participate.

Richardson is coming off a 2021 sophomore campaign that saw him achieve a 4-0 pitching record over seven starts for the Scarlet Hawks. The Plainfield, Illinois native paced the Scarlet Hawks starting rotation with a 4.87 ERA and 47 strikeouts over 40 2/3 innings of work. Richardson registered a career-high 15 strikeouts over 7.0 innings pitched in a 5-1 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran on March 20. His performance in that game landed him March 23 NACC Baseball South Division Pitcher of the Week. Richardson concluded the 2021 season on the All-NACC Baseball South Division Team.
