Meeks Added to Swimming and Diving Coaching Staff

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Illinois Tech swimming and diving program is happy to announce the addition of Devon Meeks as an assistant coach to both the men’s and women’s teams.

"Devon will be an outstanding addition to the coaching staff this season,” said Head Coach Andy Parro, who is entering his second season. “His enthusiasm for the sport and commitment to the NCAA Division III mission is in line with our goals as a team as our season gets underway this month."

Meeks comes to Illinois Tech by way of UW-Lacrosse, where he served as the swimming and diving recruiting coordinator and assistant coach. During Meeks’ tenure, UW-Lacrosse won a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title on the women’s side and saw its numbers on the men’s side double. Meeks helped orchestrate multiple top recruiting classes while working with individual medley, distance freestyle, and sprinters as an assistant.

In addition to his time at UW-Lacrosse, Meeks has also served as the Swim Lessons Coordinator at Old Town Hot Springs in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He’s also been an assistant swim coach at both ISD 192 and Farmington Tigersharks Swim Club in Farmington, Minnesota.

Meeks graduated from the University of Iowa in 2015 with a B.A. in Sports Management in Entrepreneurship.

The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams look to build on a strong 2018-19 season. Tech placed second out of eight teams on the men’s side and third out of 11 team’s on the women’s side at the Liberal Arts Championships last June. The season starts on October 12 at 1:00 p.m. when Tech hosts Wisconsin-Whitewater for a dual.
