NORFOLK, Va. – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association named its winter non-sport Academic-All Americans on Friday. One student-athlete from men’s volleyball, one from men’s swimming and diving, and five from women’s swimming and diving were honored by the USCAA.
ILLINOIS TECH HONOREES
- Allan Huang (Men’s Volleyball, third-year, Psychology)
- Louis German (Men’s Swimming and Diving, second-year, Civil Engineering)
- Christian Jones (Women’s Swimming and Diving, third-year, Molecular Biology and Biological Physics)
- Madeline Lane (Women's Swimming and Diving, second-year, Architectural Engineering)
- Ava Obenaus (Women’s Swimming and Diving, third-year, Mechanical Engineering)
- Brigitte Temple (Women’s Swimming and Diving, third-year, Mechanical Engineering)
- Briana Tyler (Women’s Swimming and Diving, third-year, Mechanical Engineering)
The seven honorees participate in sports not sponsored by the USCAA. To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors and carry a grade point average at least a 3.5 (on a four-point system) or better.
The USCAA will also announce Spring USCAA All-Academic (Baseball) and Spring USCAA Non-Sport All-Academic (Men’s and Women’s Track and Field, Women’s Lacrosse) in May.
