Swimming and Diving Places Thirteen on LAC All-Championship Team

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Liberal Arts Conference has announced its All-Championship team from last weekend’s LAC Championships. Thirteen Illinois Tech student-athletes were honored by the LAC from swimming and diving, the most during Kyllian Griffin’s three-year tenure as Head Coach.

In order to earn a spot on the All-Championship team, an athlete must place in the top 3 of an individual event or be on a relay that places in the top 3.

Below are the Tech student-athletes receiving the honor:

Women’s

Jasmine Duke (400 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay)

Katherine Lydon (200 Free, 500 Free, 1650, 400 Free Relay, 400 Medley Relay)

Brigitte Temple (100 Breast, 200 Breast, 400 IM, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay)

Briana Tyler (200 Fly, 400 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay)

Kristin Wills (200 Fly, 400 IM, 400 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay)

Men’s

Zachary Bonson (800 Free Relay)

Karsen Diepholz (200 Free, 500 Free, 1650 Free, 400 Free Relay, 800 Free Relay)

Julian Escasa (400 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay)

Brendan Howley (50 Free, 100 Breast, 200 Breast, 400 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay)

Jay Korhonen (400 IM, 800 Free Relay)

Ryan Lakner (200 Medley Relay)

David Polzin (200 Medley Relay)

Luke Workman (400 Free Relay, 800 Free Relay)

A total of 71 athletes earned the All-Championship team distinction this year – 34 women and 37 men.  Each team placed third at the LAC Championships, which was the highest finish for the men since 2013 and since 2010 for the women.
