Scarlet Hawks come up short despite huge performance by Rarick
The Scarlet Hawks fans in attendance on Monday night were treated to a brilliant offensive performance by sophomore Samuel Rarick.  Rarick poured in 36 points on a blistering 75% (15-20) shooting.  The Hawks were very close the entire game only trailing by 5 points at the half. Rarick started off the game going 7-7 and scoring the team's first 15 points.  He was virtually unstoppable en route to a 23-point half.
St Mary's tried to slow Rarick in the second half with constant double and even triple teams. Even with the constant pressure Rarick somehow managed to score 14 second half points on 62% shooting. The Scarlet Hawks however ran out of gas losing 57-45.
The Hawks will be back in action on Saturday as they hit the road to Northland International whom the Hawks defeated earlier this season by way of a Rarick buzzer beating shot.
