NORFOLK, Va. – Illinois Tech men's basketball junior Jake Digiorgio had quite the seven days last week, breaking the school rebounding record while helping lead the Scarlet Hawks to two victories. Today, Digiorgio was recognized by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association as its Men's Basketball Player of the Week for action between January 30 and February 5.

Digiorgio, a team captain, began the week with a 16-point, 11-rebound performance in a 70-60 win over Dominican on January 31. His eight rebound in the contest was his 765th career board, which passed Samuel Rarick for first all-time in rebounding at Illinois Tech. His performance against the Stars was followed by an 18-point, 14-rebound game at Maranatha Baptist the next day. The Michigan native also shot over 50% in both contests and has now recorded double-digit rebounds in 14 straight games.

The Scarlet Hawks will host the Eagles of Robert Morris-Peoria this evening at 7:00 p.m. Live audio, video, and stats will be available. The live audio will be powered by Illinois Media School.
