Mosley Named D3Hoops Preseason All-American Honorable Mention Team

CHICAGO – Anthony Mosley, senior guard, was named to the D3Hoops Preseason All-American Honorable Mention Team.

Mosley is now in his fourth season with the Scarlet Hawks.

Todd Kelly, Illinois Tech Men's Basketball Coach, said Mosley has put the Illinois Tech men's basketball program on the map.

"He was our first local recruit to commit and won a state championship at Whitney Young," Kelly said. "Anthony brought a winning mentality and instant credibility to our program."

Mosley averaged 14.5 points per game and 4.2 assists in 20 games last season in his junior year. He averaged 18.9 ppg his sophomore year and 19.7 points his freshman year.

"I expect him to play like an All-American level on both ends of the court," Kelly said.

Kelly credits Mosley for his leadership.

"Anthony is more of a lead by example guy and his energy especially on the defensive end has been really good thus far," Kelly said. "We both expect him to lead us to the NCAA tournament."

The men's basketball team begins their season Thursday, November 8 as the Scarlet Hawks travel to Roosevelt for an exhibition starting at 6:00 p.m. Their first official game will be Monday, November 12 as they travel to Trine to take on the Thunder starting at 6:00 p.m. CT.
