SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - The Illinois Tech men's basketball team earned its fifth straight victory on Saturday and completed an Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference sweep over the Lakeland College Muskies, downing the hosts 81-72. Led by Jake Digiorgio (19 points, 20 rebounds), the Scarlet Hawks (8-5, 5-3 NACC) doubled Lakeland's (6-7, 4-4 NACC) rebounding total in the victory.

How it Happened

  • It was a back-and-forth early portion of the contest, with no team leading by more than one possession until a Capriest Gardner lay-up with 11:17 left made the score 15-11 Tech.
  • A three-point barrage help Tech extend the lead near double-digits, as Jake Bruns and Parker Joncus connected from the outside to move up nine. A few minutes later, Joncus and Anthony Mosley Jr. nailed threes to go up 34-22.
  • Lakeland was able to trim the lead to 11 by halftime, but the Scarlet Hawks opened up a 21-point lead early in the second half thanks to a 12-2 lead.
  • The lead extended to as high as 23 before the Muskies made a late run. While Lakeland was able to pull within single digits, the run was too little too late as Tech converted its free throws down the stretch.

Scarlet Hawk Standouts

  • Digiorgio was unreal in the contest, posting 20 boards for the second time this season. His 19 points came on 7-of-14 shooting.
  • Mosley Jr. scored 20-plus points for a fourth straight contest, dropping 22 on 6-of-10 shooting and a 9-of-12 output from the foul line. He also had four assists and three steals.
  • Max Hisatake had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.
