Ebenezer Noonoo is entering his eighth year as assistant men's basketball coach at Illinois Tech in 2021-22. His endless enthusiasm and positive approach on and off the court creates change and supports program goals in everything he touches. His wide-ranging responsibilities include recruiting, player development of post players, team defense, and leading the strength and conditioning program for the Scarlet Hawks.

Since joining the Illinois Tech staff, Noonoo has played a key role in the Scarlet Hawks turnaround from its 2-23 record in his first year to its triumphant 23-5 campaign in the 2016-17 season, which was capped by a USCAA National Championship. Under Noonoo's assistance, the Scarlet Hawks saw a seamless transition into a full NCAA Division III member in 2018-19 as they registered a 16-12 overall record and secured a spot in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament Championship Game. Noonoo helped guide Illinois Tech to their second-straight NACC Tournament appearance in 2019-20, which ended with a 12-14 record. The Scarlet Hawks have accumulated three All-NACC First Team selections, one All-NACC Second Team selection, two NACC Defensive Player of the Year honors, and one D3Hoops.com All-Central Region Third Team player with Noonoo's help. 

Prior to Illinois Tech, Noonoo began his career off the court as a player liaison, recruiting professional basketball players for a Chicago-based sports agency. A year later, he joined a Chicago Public School as athletic director and head basketball coach. In 2011, he moved on to become the head coach for the Barrington Youth Program, where he also handled all the day-to-day logistics for the year-round program for 150 kids. In 2012, he moved to Dubai to become general manager and head coach at MPAC Sports - a program designed to teach high-level basketball to the Middle East + North Africa region (MENA). In his stint there, Noonoo was responsible for managing 50 sports academies in four cities, hiring coaches, designing the training programs used system-wide, and overseeing the logistics of mentoring 2,500 young players a week through MPAC. He also coached the highest level elite players in the region. The crowning achievement of his time in Dubai came in the summer of 2014, when he created and produced a global basketball tournament hosted by MPAC that saw four top-ranked American high school teams, including Chicago’s Simeon Academy, travel to Dubai to compete against the best the UAE had to offer.

A native of Chicago, Noonoo was a four-year Division I basketball player at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he also graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics.

Noonoo currently works as a private wealth banking specialist for US Trust. He and his two sons, Micah and Noah, reside in Chicago.
