Illinois Tech Men's Soccer Falls in USCAA National Tournament Quarter Finals

Charleston, WV. - Illinois Tech Men's Soccer team dropped a tough 3-1 decision to #4 ranked Concordia College (AL) in the USCAA National Tournament Quarter Finals.

Concordia were awarded a penalty kick just 1 minute into the match and would be given another penalty kick in the 20th minute to go ahead 2-0. Tech's Brahadon Ramirez looked to be pulled down in the box in the 30th minute with no call given. Illinois Tech was rewarded for strong play with a goal in the 43rd minute from senior Rex Meier assisted by Ramirez. The score would remain 2-1 heading into the half-time stanza.

Illinois Tech again looked like they would be awarded a penalty kick when a Concordia player blocked an IIT shot with their arm in the 50th minute but the referee waved off the call. Concordia added a goal in the 58th minute to take a 3-1 lead.

The Scarlet Hawks pressed the game in the final 30 minutes but could not find the back of the net. Illinois Tech outshot Concordia 7-6 for the game.

Illinois Tech faces Washington Adventist in their next match of the national tournament.
