Bartolome Wins D3 Independents Player of the Week

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Tech men's soccer team has earned its first weekly honor of the season. Sophomore Santiago Bartolome has been named The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week for his preformance between September 12-18.

The Scarlet Hawks won two matches at Stuart Field last week, with Bartolome playing a key role in both of them. The Georgia native scored three of Tech's four goals on the week, netting the first goal of the match in a 2-0 win over Ripon College on Wednedsay night before scoring both of the team's goals in the 2-1 homecoming victory Saturday over Defiance. His last goal on Saturday came with just 20 seconds remaining to break a 1-1 tie. Bartolome's three goals currently leads the team.

Bartolome and the Scarlet Hawks are back in action this afternoon at Concordia-Chicago. Match time is set for 4:00 p.m.
