MILWAUKEE, Wis. – After the Illinois Tech men's soccer team won two shutouts last week to extend its win streak to three matches, one of the team's center backs was honored by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). The conference has named Luke Holzman its Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for action between the week of September 10 through September 16.
The Downers Grove native registered a goal in each of Illinois Tech's outings last week as the Scarlet Hawks blanked both Grace Christian (5-0) and MacMurray (2-0). He was also part of a defensive unit that allowed just six shots total and four shots on goal over 180 minutes of action this week. Holzman's goal against MacMurray was the game-winner.
