CHICAGO—Illinois Institute of Technology men's soccer sophomore defender Noah Kwortnik landed a spot on the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Men's Division III All-Central Region Third Team on Monday afternoon. The North Wales, Pennsylvania native is one of nine NACC men's soccer players named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches All-Central Region Team.

Kwortnik was a force to be reckoned with on the back line for the Scarlet Hawks after missing the 2018 season to injury. He commanded a defensive unit that recorded five shutouts in 2019, and assisted a goalkeeping staff that registered a .765 save percentage and a 1.40 goals against average over 19 games.

Kwortnik chipped in three goals for six points on the season, which included tallies in a 7-0 win against Beloit College, a 5-3 loss to MSOE and a 2-1 win over Benedictine. The defensive weapon ranked fourth on the team with 27 shots and 14 shots on goal.

Kwortnik's latest honor comes after being named to the 2019 All-NACC Second Team.

The Scarlet Hawks closed the 2019 season with an 8-10-1 overall record.
