2019 UNITED SOCCER COACHES DIVISION III MEN'S SCHOLAR ALL-REGION TEAMS

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Illinois Institute of Technology men's soccer sophomore defender Noah Kwortnik was named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-North/Central Region Second Team on Monday afternoon. The North Wales, Pennsylvania native earned a spot on the team by way of a 3.76 cumulative grade point average as a civil/structural/construction engineering major.

Kwortnik was a steady presence for the Scarlet Hawks after he missed the 2018 season to injury. His leadership assisted an IIT defense that recorded five shutouts, and played a role in a .765 team save percentage and a 1.40 team goals against average. Kwortnik contributed three goals for six points in 2019, which included scores in a 7-0 win over Beloit, a 5-3 loss to MSOE and a 2-1 win over Benedictine. The defensive juggernaut ranked fourth on the team with 27 shots and 14 shots on goal.

To be eligible for Scholar All-Region, student-athletes must meet the following criteria:

  • Started more than 50 percent of all games and significantly contributed to the team.
