Men's Soccer Overtaken By Kalamazoo 2-1

Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Illinois Tech men's soccer team started their first half against Kalamazoo College with the game's first tally at the 14-minute mark, but the Scarlet Hawks couldn't make the lead stand up, as the Hornets scored two second half goals for the 2-1 non-conference victory Wednesday night. The Scarlet Hawks drop to 5-3-0 overall, and are still looking for their first road match victory. The Hornets improved to 3-4-2 overall.

Offense was hard to come by for the Scarlet Hawks, as they were limited to just five total shots, and only one shot on goal.

How It Happened

  • Michael Kaczowka got the Scarlet Hawks on the board first at the 14:01 mark in the first half with his six goal of the season. Assisting on the play was Logan Garcia.
  • Kalamazoo evened the match at 1-1 just under five minutes into the second half, when Jeremiah Heath scored his first goal of the season, with an assist from Aidan Gillig.
  • Gillig netted the eventual game-winning goal for the Hornets at the 65:40 mark, with Shun Yonehara providing the assist.
