CHICAGO, Ill. – On Wednesday, Jay Korhonen was named the Liberal Arts Conference's Men's Swimmer of the Week Award. The honor is a result of his performance at the University of Chicago Phoenix Invite this past weekend.

Korhonen started the weekend strong in Friday's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, as he was a part of Tech's eighth-place finisher (1:27.94). On Saturday, he placed 11th in the 200 Yard Individual Medley with a season-best time of 1:58.18 and was a part of the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay team that earned a sixth-place finish at 7:09.63. He saved his best swim for Sunday, however, as Korhonen placed second in the 400 Yard Individual Medley with a time of 4:10.34. He also placed seventh in the 200 Yard Breaststroke on Sunday at 2:12.55.

The Scarlet Hawks will resume the 2017-18 schedule on Saturday, December 2 at 1:00 p.m. with the annual Ted Erikson Invite at Ekco Pool.
