CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Tech men's tennis team opened the home schedule on Sunday at nearby XS Tennis. Despite going 4-2 in the singles portion of the match, the Scarlet Hawks were defeated 5-4 behind a dominant doubles performance by the Big Blue.
How it Happened
- Franklin Zhong was the story of the day in #1 singles. He earned the victory for the Scarlet Hawks despite facing one of the top players in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (Jacob Palley), winning 6-3, 3-6, 7-6.
- The Scarlet Hawks also won in the #4 singles spot thanks to a great day from Mike Rivich (6-2, 7-6).
- Adam Laitinen was dominant in #5 singles, winning 6-4, 6-0.
- In #6 singles, Brody Croonquist won 6-2, 6-4.
