Pol de Santiago Earns NACC's Weekly Honor

For the fourth time this season, the Illinois Tech men's tennis team has earned the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's (NACC) Student-Athlete of the Week award. This time, for the week of March 18-24, Pol de Santiago receives the honor as selected by the league's sports information directors.

De Santiago went 4-0 at No. 1 singles as Illinois Tech split four matches during their spring trip to Florida. He opened the week with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Bethel's Hunter Fernelius, then shut out UW-Superior's Josiah Borst (6-0, 6-0) and topped Hamilton's Max Zimmerman (6-4, 6-2) before outlasting Nico Haet of St. Lawrence, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (9). The native of Barcelona, Spain also paired with Franklin Zhong for three close losses (8-5, 8-6, 8-7 [2]) at No. 1 doubles.

Men's Tennis opens NACC play on Saturday, March 30 at home against Lakeland (10:00 a.m.) and Marian (2:00 p.m.) at XS Tennis.
