Thomas Leads Way for Men’s Track and Field at Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Illinois Tech men's track and field team opened the 2017 indoor season at the University of Chicago's Phoenix Invite on Saturday. Behind a strong meet from Demis Thomas, Tech placed sixth in the meet.

Meet Highlights

  • Thomas was impressive in two events, placing seventh in the 60m dash (7.43s) and 17th in the 200m dash (24.71s). 
  • Rayan Baig was also strong in the 200m dash, placing 10th with a time of 24.26s.
  • Cole Dammeier was impressive in the distance portion of the meet, placing eighth in the 3000m at 9:36.91.
