Men's Track and Field Competes at BenU Relays

LISLE, Ill. - On Friday, the Illinois Tech men's track and field team competed at the Benedictine University Relays. In the rain-shortened meet, the Scarlet Hawks competed well in several areas.

Meet Highlights

  • The 4x200 Meter Relay team was strong, as Oluwaseun Ogunsanya, Kwame Opoku, Saisaketh Valluri, and Demis Thomas combined to place fourth with a time of 1:36.63.
  • The Sprint Medley Relay was also great for Tech. Thomas, Opoku, Brendan Batliner, and Tuman placed third at 3:44.10.
  • In the 200 Meter Dash, Thomas (23.10s) and Ogunsanya (23.12s) led the way, placing 19th and 22nd respectively. Brandon Bortei-Doku was not far behind, placing 30th with a time of 23.42s.
  • Cole Dammeier (4:18.69) and Tuman (4:20.06) placed 17th and 18th in the 1500 Meter Run.
  • In the long jump, Valluri placed 31st at 5.98m.
  • Barry Brookins placed 16th in the hammer throw at 38.51m and 42nd in the shot put at 10.38m.
