Men's Volleyball Releases 2018 Schedule

CHICAGO, Ill. –Illinois Tech Men's Volleyball has released the upcoming 2017-18 schedule.  This year's schedule features 11 home matches, nine tournaments—including two at home—and many games against local NCAA Division III opponents.

"The team is very excited about the upcoming season and the challenges our schedule presents," said third-year head coach Katie Reifert. "We will face some top Division III competition as well as some new programs competing in their ever first collegiate season. The team is eager to get started and improve on our record from last season."

The Scarlet Hawks will begin their season in mid-January with three straight weekend road tournaments. First, the team will travel to California to partake in the Slug Slam Tournament at UC Santa Cruz.  The team will take on Stevenson on January 12th at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time and then UC Santa Cruz as well as Cal Lutheran on January 13th.

Tech will travel again the following weekend (January 20) to Mequon, Wisconsin to take on both Concordia (Wis.) and Greeneville.  Tech will host its first match of the season on Tuesday, January 24th at Keating Sports Center against Trinity Christian before heading out to another tri-tournament in-state at Aurora that weekend (January 27), where they will also take on Augustana.

February will feature more three-team contests for the Scarlet Hawks. Loras comes to town on Friday, February 2nd at 7:00 p.m.  Tech will then make a quick trip to Olivet on the following Friday (October 9) before coming home to host a Tri-Tournament between Fontbonne and Maranatha Baptist the next day, Saturday, February 10th.  After another brief visit to Marian (Wis.) on February 14th, Tech will host another Tri-Tournament on Saturday, February 17 against Calumet College of St. Joseph and St. Xavier (3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.) at Keating Sports Center. The Hawks will head out to Loras for yet another weekend of matches (February 23-24) before wrapping up the month on the road against Trinity Christian (February 28.)

Tech will feature four total home matches in March, starting with St. Xavier (March 2) and Marian (March 7.)  A two-game road trip to Fontbonne (March 9) and Greenville (March 10) will be followed by two home matches after Spring Break: Aurora (March 23) and Olivet (March 28.) 

Tech will close out the regular season with back-to-back tournaments.  Hiram will host the Hawks on March 30 in Ohio (6:00 p.m. Eastern Time) followed by neutral-site matches against Adrian and Juniata on March 31st.  Lastly, the Scarlet Hawks will play in an in-state tri-tournament at Benedictine on Saturday, April 7th.

All 2017-18 home contests will have live audio, video, and statistics. The live audio will be powered by Illinois Media School.
