Men’s Cross Country Shows Strong Promise in Opening Meet

ELMHURST, Ill. – If the first race of the season in any indication for the Illinois Tech men's cross country team, the Scarlet Hawks are in for a great season. Racing in a competitive Elmhurst Earlybird Invite 6k field, Tech placed fourth out of 12 teams.

Meet Highlights

  • Leading the way for the Scarlet Hawks was sophomore Julian Go, who placed 20th in a 128-racer field with a time of 20:12.0.
  • Right behind Go were junior Thomas Doyle (36th place, 20:49.2) and sophomore Evan Balizado (38th place, 20:56.8).
  • In his first collegiate race, Logan Plaisted placed for Tech, coming in 66th place with a time of 22:08.4.
  • Alden Diaz (70th place, 22:24.7), Brendan Conroy (91st place, 23:46.7), Mohammed Saleem (106th place, 25:45.5), and Spencer Clark (110th place, 26:15.9) also competed for Tech.
