CHICAGO—The Illinois Institute of Technology women's basketball team hosted NAIA foe Roosevelt College in the second leg of a three-game homestand in a rare Monday night game. The Scarlet Hawks came up on the wrong end of a 65-42 decision against the Lakers, falling to 0-2 in the 2019-20 season. The Lakers up their record to 2-4 overall.

Roosevelt 65, IIT 42

The Scarlet Hawks jumped to a 7-4 advantage with 5:50 left in the first quarter, where Selvamithra Ravichandran converted a pair of free throws thanks to a technical foul called on Roosevelt's Lindzy Cox. Redemption was had courtesy of Cox as she spoiled IIT's lone lead of the game with a three-pointer that knotted the contest at 7-7 with 3:58 left in the frame before they took a 16-12 edge after 10:00.

The Lakers outscored the Scarlet Hawks 24-5 in the second quarter en route to a 40-17 halftime edge, which proved to be enough cushion in a 65-42 victory.

Shannon O'Donnell paced IIT with 10 points while Erin Nelson commanded the Scarlet Hawks at the glass with seven off the bench. The Lakers, who shot 29-of-70 (.414) from the field, were led by Cox's 20 points.

The Scarlet Hawks will return to the Keating Sports Center on Wednesday, November 20 as they open NACC play against Benedictine. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
