Fond du Lac, Wis. - Although the Scarlet Hawks starters held their own against Marian's starters Saturday afternoon in Wisconsin, the Sabres bench play proved to much to overcome as the Illinois Tech women's basketball team fell to Marian 66-42. The Scarlet Hawks dropped to 4-10 overall(1-7 NACC). The Sabres improved to 5-11(3-7 NACC).

Although the Marian starters outscored the Hawks starters 47-38 in the game, it was the Marian reserves who inflicted the most damage, outscoring the Hawks bench 19-4 to seal the victory, including 12 points off the bench for Lexi Brakebush.

The Hawks held the lead for much of the first quarter before the Sabres finished out the opening frame on a 9-4 run to take an 18-15 lead into the second quarter.

A Julia Bucci jumper a minute into the second gave the Hawks a brief 19-18 lead. The Sabres responded with a 16-0 run to take a 34-19 lead and they never looked back, closing out the half leading 36-23.

The Hawks could get no closer than 11 points the rest of the game as Marian continued to exert their depth.
