Meghan McCarthy will embark on her fifth season as Illinois Institute of Technology head women's lacrosse coach in 2022. (20-16, four seasons) 

Illinois Tech has accumulated four All-MWLC First Team selections, four All-MWLC Second Team selections, one MWLC Attacker of the Year, one MWLC Freshman of the Year, 28 MWLC All-Academic Team selections, one All-NACC Second Team selection, and nine NACC Scholar-Athletes under McCarthy's leadership. Her guidance helped the Scarlet Hawks claim the No. 2 seed in the 2019 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Tournament with an 11-5 overall record.

Prior to Illinois Tech, McCarthy was the head women’s lacrosse coach at Robert Morris University-Chicago, where she was tasked with rebuilding the women's lacrosse program from scratch, handling all coaching and recruiting duties. Stints as an assistant coach at Elmhurst College and Davenport University led her to RMU. At Elmhurst, McCarthy wore a variety of hats, having responsibilities in game planning, recruiting, player development, strength and conditioning, and team operations. As the defensive coordinator for Davenport in 2015, the team won 16 games and proved to be one of NAIA's top teams, reaching the MWLL Championship Game. McCarthy has also served as head coach at two Chicagoland area high schools (Barrington and Fenwick), and for the American Youth Lacrosse Association.

As a student-athlete, McCarthy played lacrosse at Robert Morris University-Chicago and was very successful during her collegiate career. She was named the NAIA Rookie of the Year in 2012, achieved first team all-conference and All-American awards in 2012 and 2013, and won a National Championship in 2014, where she was named the National Tournament MVP.

In addition, McCarthy has a background in physical education, marketing, retail, and the food industry. McCarthy graduated from Robert Morris University in Chicago with an associates degree in culinary arts in 2014.  She received her bachelor’s degree in business management from RMU in 2017.
