Hoefgen Named USCAA Second Team All-American

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – On Thursday evening, the United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced its All-Americans for the 2017 Fall seasons. Katie Hoefgen of Illinois Tech women's soccer was named Second Team All-American by the USCAA.

Hoefgen emerged as one of the USCAA's top offensive threats with 16 goals, nine assists, and 41 points, all ranking Top 10 in the USCAA. In addition, her 70 shots ranked 11th in the Association. She had five multi-goal and three multi-assist games, including a four-goal, two-assist performance in a 12-0 win over Rockford on October 5. She also had a hat trick in the match's first 20 minutes in a 7-0 win over Finlandia on October 21.

Illinois Tech women's soccer finished with an 8-10-1 overall record in 2017. This was the third straight season in which the program had at least one student-athlete named USCAA All-American.
