CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Tech women's soccer team continued its roll on Wednesday night, downing the Eagles of Benedictine University 3-1 in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference contest. Wednesday's win was Tech's seventh in a row, moving the team's record to 8-0-1 and 3-0 in NACC contests. BenU fell to 4-6 overall and 1-2 in conference matches.

How it Happened

• Shots stayed fairly even early on, with the tally tied 7-7 after 31 minutes of action.
• A foul set-up a penalty kick for Benedictine's Abbie Graham, the leading scorer for the Eagles, in the 33rd minute. She was able to convert for her 7th goal of the season, giving BenU the first lead of the match.
• The Tech offense came to life soon after the Graham goal. Over the next five minutes, the Scarlet Hawks would take four shots.
• One of those was in the 36th minute, when Caeli Kennedy fired a hard shot off the defender's foot to score her first collegiate goal.
• 90 seconds after Kennedy's tally, an own goal benefited the Scarlet Hawks to give Tech a 2-1 lead at halftime.
• Tech came out firing in the opening minutes of the second half, as BenU goalkeeper Cassidy Henson turned away shots from Erin James and Julia Taliana in the 47th minute.
• It would not take long, however, for the Scarlet Hawks to score again. Hoefgen made a beautiful header pass to the left of the box to Jamie Griggs, who converted her try for her fourth goal of the season.
• Henson was able to make some saves down the stretch, but so was Tech netminder Catherine Klemp. She made two saves in the remaining minutes of the second half.

• Griggs' goal came on one of her three shots on net.
• Kennedy scored on one of her two shots.
• Hoefgen had an assist while leading Tech with eight shots.
• Klemp made five saves, allowing her only goal on a penalty kick.

• The Scarlet Hawks outshot the Eagles 24-12 while talking 12 shots in each half.
• Tech committed 14 fouls compared to Benedictine's four.
• After tonight's NACC action, Tech joins Dominican University, Wisconsin Lutheran College, and Concordia Univeristy Wisconsin as the four remaining conference unbeatens at 3-0.
