MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Week one of the NCAA Division III women's soccer season is in the books, and the Scarlet Hawks are already stacking awards. On Wednesday, the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced Jamie Griggs as the league's first Offensive Player of the Week for the 2019 season.
Griggs earns the honor after a dominant week for the Scarlet Hawks, as the team recorded two shutouts and scored a combined nine goals in wins over North Park (4-0) and Beloit (5-0). The reigning NACC Freshman of the Year and Third Team All-Region selection picked up right where she left off last season, tallying a hat trick on just five shots against North Park on Friday. Griggs then scored a goal and tallied two assists two days later in a 5-0 win over Beloit.
The Scarlet Hawks (2-0) are back in action tonight at 7:00 p.m. at North Central College (2-0) for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
