Women's Soccer Announces 2019 End of Year Awards

CHICAGO—The Illinois Institute of Technology women's soccer team bestowed awards on five individuals for their outstanding performances throughout the 2019 season.

"It's unfortunate that we can't be together physically to celebrate and show our appreciation for all of our student-athletes," said Illinois Tech head women's soccer coach Roshane Ellison. "The idea of US must continue to permeate through our program. We have a group of outstanding young ladies on our team. While these awards recognize outstanding individual performances, they are team awards because players are recognized by their peers and the coaching staff. This provides a great level of intrinsic motivation for our team. Players know their character, consistency and hard work will not go unnoticed by the team."

Erin James (MVP)

The junior midfielder deadlocked herself in a tie for sixth on the team in scoring with two goals and a team-leading seven assists for 11 points over 22 games played in 2019. James ranks seventh on the Scarlet Hawks career assists list with 17 over 62 games played. The Houston, Pennsylvania native also carries 10 goals, 37 points and 94 shots over her three-year career.
