CHICAGO, Ill. – The Illinois Tech women's swimming and diving team has received yet another weekly award. Elly Shin has been named the Liberal Arts Conference Women's Diver of the Week for her performance in Saturday's meet against Loras College.

Shin was strong in both 1 Meter Diving events, posting scores of 111.15 and 141.25, totaling 252.40. The final tally was just 5.0 shy of her season-best from last season's Liberal Arts Championships. Shin placed second in the 5-dive portion and third in the 6-dive portion on Saturday, which was also her first meet of the season.

The Scarlet Hawks are back in action on Saturday afternoon, hosting Illinois Wesleyan University and Carthage College at 1:00 p.m. at Keating Sports Center's Ekco Pool. During the event, the Swimming and Diving team will be collecting donations for the Ted Mullin Fund for sarcoma cancer research.
