CHICAGO, Ill. - University of Chicago's Phoenix Invite opened on Friday, with Illinois Tech's women's swimming and diving team sitting in fifth place after the evening. The Scarlet Hawks tallied 99 points on the day.

Meet Highlights
- Freshman Claudia Flores-Berumen was impressive, placing 10th in the 1650 Yard Freeestyle with a time of 18:41.97.
- In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the team of Kiara Jasunas, Kristin Wills, Christina Hiotaky, and Jamie Wurster finished in 11th place (1:44.00)
- Tech's 400 Yard Medley Relay team of Wills, Hiotaky, Megan Burrill, and Katherine Lydon finished 13th with a time of 4:11.97.
