Colbert Headlines Women's Tennis All-Conference Honorss

Chicago, Ill. - Women’s Tennis Junior Captain Morgan Colbert (Glen Carbon, Ill./Edwardsville HS) headlined a big fall for the Scarlet Hawks by earning Conference Player of the Year honors. Two other Scarlet Hawks were named All-Conference as SophomoresHana Iverson and Kylie Hance were named to the All-Conference team as well. This marks back to back NACC Women’s Player of the Year honors for Tech following Weronicka Halicka taking home the honor last year

Morgan Colbert

  • “We as a program are so lucky to have Morgan.  Her leadership and work ethic is infectious and resonates through the program.  This was a much deserved award, but only in part represents her importance to our team culture and success.” said Head Coach Erik Scanlan on his second consecutive Player of the Year
  • Colbert was named Conference Player of the Year following an All-NACC campaign last season. 
  • Colbert was also named All-Conference along with Hana Iverson for their performance on the doubles side
  • Colbert posted a 20-7 record over the fall playing some of the top competition in the nation along with a 17-1 record in NACC play. 
  • On the individual side, Colbert turned in a 10-3 record on the fall and a perfect 9-0 record playing as the #1 position for the Hawks throughout the fall.
  • On the double sides, Colbert went 9-3 and 8-1 in NACC action. 

Hana Iverson

  • Iverson was Colberts partner in doubles and earned All-NACC honors for her singles and doubles performance.
  • Iverson was rewarded for her efforts after going 9-4 individually with a perfect 8-0 record in NACC play.
  • In doubles the duo of Iverson and Colbert posted a 10-4 overall record and an 8-1 conference record.

Kylie Hance

  • Hance earns All-NACC honors selection for the second consecutive season.
  • Playing in the #3 slot, Hance played her way to an 8-6 overall record and 8-1 in conference play.
  • Hance was part of the #2 doubles group as well posting an 8-4 overall record and a 6-1 NACC record for the fall

Up Next

  • The Hawks will return to action in the spring on Sunday, March 1st as they travel across the lake to Kalamazoo for a 1:00pm match up. They will follow that up for a daunting spring break trip to Orlando, Florida.
