CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Tech women's volleyball team competed in day one of the Saint Mary of the Woods Tournament on Friday, competing against some of the USCAA's top teams. Tech fell to Florida National 3-1 before defeating UC Clermont by the same score.

  • Florida College 3, Tech 1 (19-25, 23-25, 25-22, 19-25)
  • Tech 3, UC Clermont 1 (19-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-18)

Scarlet Hawk Standouts

  • Courtney Curcio tallied 33 digs in the two matches, including 19 against Clermont.
  • Sara Hassell had a total of 26 kills on the day. Her Clermont line was 17 kills, two aces, and four block assists.
  • Taylor Burton had double-digit kills in both matches, finishing with 22 for the day. She also had five block assists against UC Clermont.
  • Both Natalie Freund (35 total) and Courtney Darling (31 total) had double-digit assists in each match. They also both tallied two service aces in the win over Clermont.
