CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Illinois Tech women's volleyball team split their two matches at the Keating Sports Center on Saturday.
The Scarlet Hawks lost to Dominican in four sets (25-18, 22-25, 18-25, 15-25) at the 11:00 a.m. match and defeated the Kalamazoo Hornets in four sets (23-25, 25-18, 30-28, 25-21) for the 3:00 p.m.
NOTE: Stats are not yet available for the Illinois Tech and Kalamazoo match.
How It Happened (Dominican Match)
- Illinois Tech took the first set, 25-18, after hitting a .175.
- Dominican tied it at one after taking the second set, 25-22.
- The Stars took the advantage in the match by taking the third set, 25-18.
- Dominican won the match in the fourth set, 25-15.
- The Stars were led by Gabija Sinickaite, who had 14 kills and hit a .205.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts (Dominican Match)
- Taylor Burton led the Scarlet Hawks with 11 kills during the match.
- Alyssa Miner recorded seven kills.
- Karen Marrufo-Zubaran also had seven kills and 19 digs.
- Justine Bracco had four kills and five blocks.
