Grauzinis Wins Second Straight Weekly Award

CHICAGO, Ill. - For her impressive performance this past weekend at St. Mary of the Woods, Irena Grauzinis was named The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week for women’s volleyball for October 2-8. This is the second consecutive week she has won the award.

The senior outside hitter amassed 78 kills and 41 digs during the weekend, leading the Scarlet Hawks to a 3-1 record and bringing the team back up to .500 overall. Grauzinis reached double-digit kills in each match, highlighted by a 24 kill, 16 dig performance in Tech’s win over St. Mary of the Woods on Friday. In the next match against Rochester, she would almost replicate her game one performance with 23 kills and 16 digs. She would finish out the weekend with a 4.87 kills per set and 2.56 digs per set ratio.

The Scarlet Hawks are back at home on Tuesday when they take on Wooster. The game set to start at 5:00 p.m.
