OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents released its All-Independent Teams and Awards on Tuesday. The Illinois Tech women's cross country team had one player earn a spot on the first team, sophomore Erin Nelson.
Nelson paced the Illinois Tech women's cross country team this season. She placed as high as 54th in large contests and recorded several consistent meets, all timing-in under 28 minutes. Nelson raced in all but one meet on the year. She recorded a season-best time of 27:30.4 at the Benedictine University Eagle Invite in October.
The Tech women's cross country team ran at the USCAA National Championship meet last Friday in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with Nelson placing 37th at 27:36.45.
