Chicago, Ill. - Illinois Tech Track and Field kicks off their 2022 season today(January 15th), and for the first time in over two years the men's and women's teams will be competing in the indoor season portion of their schedule. 

Due to the pandemic, the indoor slate was not held last season. Head Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach Tyler McQuality is looking forward to a return to indoor competion, starting today at the Cardinal Opener at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. 

"We are very excited to have our first indoor season since 2020 and we want to take advantage of the season to train and build towards outdoors to be at our best come May" McQuality said. "We have a mix of returning talent and incoming freshman that gives us a promising outlook and we look forward to the strides we hope to make as a team" added McQuality.

Indoor competion for the Scarlet Hawks will run through March 4th, including the NACC Indoor Championship competion the last weekend in February. Outdoor competion will kick off April 2nd.

"We have a very exciting schedule with some of the best competition that Division III and the Chicagoland area has to offer at some of the best facilities in the nation and world" McQuality said.
