Sarah Wegrzyn joined the Illinois Tech athletic training staff in January 2018. She was promoted to head athletic trainer in July 2021.

Wegrzyn has worked at NovaCore as an athletic trainer; where she was placed with teams at York High School, Addison Trail High School, Shepherd High School and Loyola University. She also worked as a student athletic trainer at Mercyhurst University (Pa.); primarily for wrestling, lacrosse, men’s basketball and softball.

Wegrzyn was a member of the women's volleyball team at Mercyhurst (Pa.), where she received a bachelor's degree in athletic training in May 2017. She obtained a master's degree in applied exercise science with a concentration in human movement science from Concordia Chicago in December 2020.
