Men’s Basketball Defeated by Anderson University

Anderson, IN- The Scarlet Hawks Men's Basketball team traveled to Indiana to take on Anderson University. Going into the game both teams did not boast an impressive record to start the season; the Scarlet Hawks with an 0-3 record while Anderson held a 1-3 record. Both Anderson and Illinois Tech were looking for a big win coming into this game to gain some momentum to take them into the December portion of their schedule.

The first proved to be a one of dominance for Anderson. They started the first half on a 11-0 run and from there, they didn't look back. They dominated both on offense and defense outscoring the Scarlet Hawks 59-17. The only player for the Scarlet Hawks that managed to get any offense going was Samuel Rarick, who had 13 points at the half.

The second half indicated a more balanced game from the Scarlet Hawks on both defense and offense. Even though Anderson outscored the Scarlet Hawks 32-21, the Scarlet Hawks held Anderson to 27 less points than the first and scored 4 more points. Rarick had another impressive game, leading the way with 28 points and 13 rebounds.
