Scarlet Hawks Come up Short in Season Finale

Chicago, Illinois - Despite another tremendous scoring outburst by sophomore forward Samuel Rarick, the Hawks fell to Lincoln Christian 62-55. The Hawks got off to a slow start, falling behind 16-2 and then 21-4 after 10 minutes of play before mounting a furious comeback . The Scarlet Hawks proceeded to outscore Lincoln Christian 24-9 en route to a 30-28 halftime deficit. Rarick led the comeback with a huge scoring barrage, tallying 21 points and 12 rebounds in the first half.

The second half was a very competitive, back and forth contest with several ties and lead changes. The Hawks tied the game at 44 with solid contributions from Anders Bybjerg (6 points, 9 rebounds) and Derrick de Lara (6 points). Late turnovers doomed the Scarlet Hawks and led to 14 steals for Lincoln Christian. Rarick again led the Hawks with 38 points and 15 rebounds. Rarick ended the season as the USCAA's leading scorer at 27.8 points per game while also ranking 4th in rebounds at 9.4 per game. He also eclipsed the 1000 point mark for his career.
