CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Tech men's basketball team moved to 8-3 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the month of December on Wednesday night. The Scarlet Hawks downed Knox College 90-75 on the road.

How it Happened

• After a back-and-forth start to the game, the Scarlet Hawks led by six at 15-9 when Parker Joncus made a three-pointer with 15:01 to go. However, Tech only made three shots from the floor over the next seven minutes, all of them coming courtsey of Anthony Mosley Jr. A three from the sophmore gave Tech the lead once again at 23-22 with 8:04 left.
• The Scarlet Hawks were scorching for the rest of the half, nailing four-three point shots in a row from the 3:55 mark until a Mosley Jr. miss just before halftime. Illinois Tech led 51-41 at the intermission.
• In the second half, the Scarlet Hawks were able to keep the Prairie Fire at bay and not allow Knox to threaten the lead. Strong free throw shooting down the stretch led to Tech's largest lead of the night with 2:42 left to play at 84-66.
• Tech made its final six free throws of the night to ice the 90-75 win.

Scarlet Hawk Standouts

• Malik Howze had one of his strongest contests of the season, leading both teams in both scoring (23) and assists (8). He was an astounding 10-of-11 from the free throw line and also added two steals.
• Mosley Jr. continued his strong season with 22 points and two steals. He and Howze both made three shots from beyond the arc.
• Jake Digiorgio recorded yet another double-double, tallying 17 points and 10 rebounds in the starting lineup. It marks his sixth double-double in 11 games. The Michigan native also recorded two steals.
• Samuel Rarick shot 7-of-11 from the field for a 14 point, 7 rebound performance.

Stats to Know

• Both teams shot the ball well in the first half (Tech 58.6%, Knox 55.6%). For the game, the Scarlet Hawks were 49.2% from the floor, 50.0% from three-point range, and 75.0% from the free throw line.
• Tech outrebounded Knox 37-31.
• Tech was efficient, recording 14 assists compared to Knox's nine.
