Rarick Named D3 Independents Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents has announced its latest Player of the Week awards. Illinois Tech's Samuel Rarick has been named AD3I's Men's Basketball Player of the Week for action from January 23-29.

The Scarlet Hawks placed just one game last week, but Rarick turned in a memorable performance. In a 73-60 victory over Moody Bible Institute, the senior co-captain scored the team's first 10 points and finished with 25 points and 13 rebounds on 11-of-17 shooting (64.7%). It was his fourth double-double of the season and his 25 points were a season-high.

Men's basketball is back in action tonight as the Scarlet Hawks travel to Maranatha Baptist University. The contest will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tech's women's basketball team will play prior to the men's game at 5:00 p.m.
