Hisatake Named USCAA Player of the Week

NORFOLK, Va. - The Illinois Tech men's basketball team earned some more weekly honors yesterday, as Max Hisatake was named the United States Collegeiate Athletic Association Player of the Week for men's basketball. The award was handed out for action between Feburary 6 and February 12.

Hisatake, the starting center for the Scarlet Hawks, averaged 16.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 6.5 blocks per game in Tech's two victories last week while shooting a bilstering 68.4% (13-of-19) from the floor. In an 84-74 win over RMU-Peoria on February 7, Hisatake scored 20 points while blocking an astounding nine shots and pulling down eight rebounds. On Saturday, the Las Vegas native recorded a double-double of 12 points and 17 rebounds, while adding four more blocks, in a victory at Moody Bible. The sophomore now holds averages of 12.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game in 23 contests this season (all starts).

Illinois Tech (16-7) takes on a strong Milwaukee School of Engineering (14-9, 13-6 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) team this evening on the road at 7:00 p.m. The Raiders and Scarlet Hawks will be conference opponents next season as Tech moves to the NACC. MSOE is set to provide live video and live stats for tonight's game.
