WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Illinois Tech men's soccer team traveled to Waukesha, Wisconsin to oppose Carroll University late Sunday afternoon. The Scarlet Hawks fell 2-1.
How it Happened
- The Scarlet Hawks struck first in the game despite several Carroll shots early on. Noah Griffith scored on a penalty kick to put Tech up 1-0.
- After a pretty quiet stretch for the rest of the first half, Carroll scored on a penalty kick of their own. Andy Hovell scored with seven minutes left in the half to tie things at one.
- It was Carroll who took the advantage in the second half, scoring on a header to go up 2-1 with 21 minutes left.
- The Scarlet Hawks had a corner kick opportunity with just over seven minutes left, but the Pioneers were able to defend it to hang on for the win.
