Men's Soccer Set to Honor Seniors on Saturday

The Illinois Tech Men's Soccer team hosts Moody Bible on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. on Senior Day. The Scarlet Hawks will honor three seniors – Diego Gutierrez Coronel, Norikazu Honda, and Emmanuel Zambrano - at the match.

Diego Gutierrez Coronel from Bogota, Colombia has been a key player in the midfield for Illinois Tech after transferring from New Mexico University in 2015. He has nine career goals, including three goals this season. He is a Physics major and plans to attend graduate school. Diego interned at the Argonne National Laboratory this summer.

Norikazu Honda, a midfielder from Schaumburg, Illinois, has excelled at outside midfield for the last four years. He was a member of the 2014 team that finished ranked fifth in the nation and made the USCAA National Tournament. He has eight goals and 15 assists over his career, including four goals and seven assists this season. Nori is a Mechanical Engineering major and worked as a Hardware Engineer in Global Navigation Satellite System research group this summer.
 
Emmanuel Zambrano, a midfielder from South Holland, Illinois, was a member of the 2014 team that finished 13-5-1 and made the USCAA National Tournament. He has scored five goals and has four assists over his career. Illinois Tech has won 42 games in his time with the team as well. Emmanuel is an Information Technology and Management major.                                               

Saturday's game marks the last regular season contest for the 12-4-1 Scarlet Hawks. Illinois Tech started off slow this season with a 2-3-1 record, but has since reeled off 10 wins in the last 11 games on the current streak.
