Chicago, Ill. - The Illinois Tech men's soccer team 7 game home winning streak was snapped on Saturday after falling to St. Norbert College 2-1. Overall, the Scarlet Hawks are 7-6 for the season and 2-5 in Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) play.
How It Happened

The Hawks came out of the opening whistle hungry for a goal as it only took one minute and 25 seconds for them to find the back of the net. The opening goal came in when Logan Garcia received the ball inside the 18-yard box. Garcia took a touch before passing the ball off to Michael Kaczowka. Kaczowka took one touch to set himself up before nutmegging his defender and sending the ball to the opposite corner of the goal, beating the diving goalkeeper and putting the Hawks up 1-0.

A physical battle followed for the remainder of the first half.

With time ticking down, the Green Knights began applying pressure on the Hawks defense. In the 39th minute, the Green Knights William Jens scored the tying goal off a Joe Meade assist. The score read 1-1 at halftime.

Coming out of halftime, the Green Knights picked up where they left off, scoring just over four minutes into the half. Mike Murtos made it a 2-1 game in favor of the Green Knights off a John OConnor assist to take the lead over the Hawks.
