How It Happened

  • Illinois Tech extended their lead to 2-0 4:25 into the second half on a goal by Kaczowka. Ziyad Yacoubou intercepted an Eagle's clearing attempt along the right sideline in Edgewood territory. He sidestepped a defender and cut inside to start a give-and-go with David de la Fuente. On the return pass, Yacoubou sent a cross over to Kaczowka, who tapped it into the left side of the net.
  • Devin Zakeri completed the scoring for the Scarlet Hawks at the 72:31 mark. Zakeri took a free kick along the left side in the Eagles zone. The lofting, left-footed chip shot sailed just over the outstretched hands of Eagles goalkeeper Jack Gentner and into the upper right corner of the net.
